DESCRIPTION:The Missouri Sheriffs’ Association (MSA) is now offering an individual subscription service for our Online Learning Management System (LMS).  The MSA LMS Individual Subscription guarantees the subscriber the ability to complete all of their POST required annual CLEE training with the exception of the 2-hour Skill Development/Firearms training requirement.  There are currently over 100 courses available to choose from\, which would cost over $500 to pay for individually. \nAnnual Subscription\nJanuary 1\, 2023 to December 31\, 2023 \nSubscription Fee:\nCost: $75.00 for calendar year\nPayable to: Missouri Sheriffs’ Association \nPre-Requisites: \nIf you do not already have an MSA LMS online training account set up\, please go to https://lms.mosheriffs.com to register and set up an account. Participants should have an advanced working knowledge of weapons used and must pass an initial qualification course with a score of at least 80% on the first day of training to continue the course. This program is POST Approved to meet the requirements necessary for licensing as a POST Generalist Instructor\, and specialist Instructor. The program starts on Tuesday\, September 19 with 3 days of interactive classroom training on course preparation; public speaking; principles of learning; the role of the instructor; training aids; training liability; test construction; methods of instruction; and adult learning principles. Students will be required to perform short classroom presentations and select a training topic that will be used to develop and present a 50-minute practical teaching exercise. Students will be on their own from Friday\, September 22 through the following Sunday\, September 24 to return home and work on their 50-minute presentation. On Monday\, September 25 students will return back to the classroom to work on and finalize their presentation with the aid of their instructor. Each student will present their 50-minute teaching exercise on Tuesday\, September 26\, 2023. \nDue to the interactive nature of this program\, class size is limited to 14 students. \nPRE-REQUISITES:\nStudents will be required to develop a source document and lesson plan for the 50-minute teaching exercise. The addition of the semiautomatic rifle has increased the effectiveness of the patrol officer\, but it also offers challenges to the trainer. This course is a POST approved course required to obtain a patrol rifle specialist instructor license. This two-day course is mentally and physically demanding\, so participants must be in good physical condition. Both days will run longer than the minimum of eight (8) hours with low light shoot.
