DESCRIPTION:Post #26060 \nSeptember 9\, 11\, 16\, 17\, 18 2025\n8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. \nThis course will provide the student with the skills and knowledge to develop training programs that meet the requirements of the Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission (POST) Rules and Regulations\, and then present those programs to peace officers licensed in the State of Missouri. This program is POST Approved to meet the requirements necessary for licensing as a POST Generalist Instructor and Specialist Instructor. \nThe program begins with three days of interactive classroom training. Topics covered include course preparation\, public speaking\, principles of learning\, the role of the instructor\, training aids\, training liability\, test construction\, methods of instruction\, and adult learning principles. Students will be required to perform short classroom presentations. Students will also be required to present a 50-minute practical teaching exercise. The topic will be chosen in class\, but students will create the presentation on their own time. When students return the following week\, they will finalize their presentation with the aid of their instructor.
