DESCRIPTION:POST #21169 \nApril 24\, 2024\nChoose a morning class or an afternoon class.\n8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  OR  1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. \nSecurity threat groups (STGs) are broadly defined as “any group that presents a risk to the security of the institution or personnel”. They are detrimental to the best interests of the inmates because they work in opposition to the orderly function and operation of the institution. \n\n\nThis class will provide staff with a better understanding of identifying\, classifying\, and managing the individuals in STGs. It will focus on developing the participant’s level of knowledge of gangs as well as current activities\, trends and reduction strategies\, and it will examine gang intelligence\, correctional intelligence protocols\, security threats\, unit development and operational management.
