SUMMARY:WEBINAR: De-Escalation Policy & Practice: What Every Supervisor and Trainer Needs to Know
DESCRIPTION:Despite the rise in popularity of de-escalation tactics and policies\, there is very little research on de-escalation training in policing. In addition\, there is no agreed-upon definition of de-escalation\, and the exact approach and the tactics associated with it can vary dramatically. This course begins with a discussion on the central role of force and the foundations of de-escalation. It moves onto various officer perceptions of de-escalation and finishes with how agency supervisors and trainers must ensure that staff know how they are expected to carry out the de-escalation language found in policy. \nTOPICS INCLUDE: \n\nPrinciples that ground de-escalation in policing\nCore values central to de-escalation\nCommon components of de-escalation training\nFundamental truths about de-escalation\n\nPOST CLEE CREDIT: This course offers 2-hours POST CLEE credit in Technical Studies-De Escalation \nCOST: FREE! \nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. \nView System Requirements \n  \nREGISTER FOR WEBINAR
