DESCRIPTION:Despite the rise in popularity of de-escalation tactics and policies\, there is very little research on de-escalation training in policing. In addition\, there is no agreed-upon definition of de-escalation\, and the exact approach and the tactics associated with it can vary dramatically. This course begins with a discussion on the central role of force and the foundations of de-escalation.
