DESCRIPTION:POST# 13929 \nThis 8-hour Instructor Course allows successful graduates to teach end-users to properly deploy OC and to properly care for those exposed to the product. \nIn addition to covering how to deploy pepper spray\, this course stresses under what circumstances pepper spray may be appropriately used as a force option\, decontamination procedures\, and the need to closely monitor individuals for adverse medical effects after exposure. \nTopics Covered\n• Legal aspects of OC deployment\n• OC pepper spray containers & minimum deployment distances\n• Common spray patterns and target areas\n• Steps to reduce the possibility of Hydraulic Needling\n• Acceptable decontamination solutions\n• Documenting use of OC pepper spray \nSuccessful Completion Requirements\nParticipants are required to pass a written exam with a score of 90% or better and demonstrate the ability to properly deploy inert training spray. \nNotice to Students: All students in this course are exposed to OC as a requirement for instructor certification. \n3 YEAR CERTIFICATION: Successful graduates of this course will receive a three-year instructor certification certificate along with a 4-hour end-user lesson plan and visual aids. \nDisclaimer\nThis program involves practical exercises. DESCRIPTION:Post #26060 \nSeptember 30\, October 1\, 7\, 8\, 9\, 2025\n8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. \nThis course will provide the student with the skills and knowledge to develop training programs that meet the requirements of the Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission (POST) Rules and Regulations\, and then present those programs to peace officers licensed in the State of Missouri. This program is POST Approved to meet the requirements necessary for licensing as a POST Generalist Instructor and Specialist Instructor. \nThe program begins with three days of interactive classroom training. Topics covered include course preparation\, public speaking\, principles of learning\, the role of the instructor\, training aids\, training liability\, test construction\, methods of instruction\, and adult learning principles. Students will be required to perform short classroom presentations. Students will also be required to present a 50-minute practical teaching exercise. The topic will be chosen in class\, but students will create the presentation on their own time. When students return the following week\, they will finalize their presentation with the aid of their instructor. On the final day of class\, students will be expected to present a 50- minute teaching exercise. \n  \nTopics Include\n• Concepts of Lesson Plan Development\n• Conducting & Documenting Thorough Research\n• Proper Source Document Construction\n• Developing Relevant & Measurable Learning Objectives\n• Writing Defensible Lesson Plans\n• Constructing & Validating Test Questions\n• Techniques for Engaging Various Types of Learners \n  \nDue to the interactive nature of this program\, class size is limited to 14 students. \nThis training qualifies for 40 hours of Missouri POST Continuing Law Enforcement Education credit through the Missouri Sheriffs’ Association\, a POST Licensed provider of continuing education. \n*No refund for class if not attended. 50% refund if canceled 48 hours before class starts. \n  \nDeadline: September 22\, 2025 \nDOWNLOAD: Texas County Form\n
