Our Working Dog of the Month (WDOM) Contest is open, offering handlers across all working dog disciplines a chance to spotlight their exceptional canine partners. Whether your dog excels in patrol, detection, search and rescue, therapy, service, tracking, explosives detection, or any specialized working role, we want to celebrate their dedication and hard work.
Why Enter the Working Dog of the Month Contest?
Each month, we select one incredible working dog to be featured in our popular e-newsletter, reaching thousands of readers passionate about the working dog community.
But there’s more.
Every single entry is posted to our official Facebook album and receives a Working Dog Magazine prize pack complete with a WDM decal, magnet, koozie, and ink pen.
Every quarter, one Grand Prize Winner is chosen from the monthly winners to receive a coveted full-page photo spotlight in the Working Dog Magazine print issue, social media recognition on our Instagram and Facebook channels, and a custom winner’s certificate.

How to Enter
Entry is simple and open to all working dog types and disciplines, including but not limited to:
- Patrol
- Detection
- Search and Rescue
- Therapy
- Service
- Tracking
- Explosives Detection (EOD)
- And many more specialized roles
To enter the contest:
- Submit your entry fee of $25 using our secure payment link: Working Dog of the Month Contest Entry
- Email your best photo to media@workingdogmagazine.com with your dog’s name, your name, and email address. Make it count — this is your dog’s moment to shine!

- Deadline for the current round: Friday, February 27, 2026, at midnight (CST)
- Monthly Winner Announcement: Monday, March 2, 2026, at 5 PM (CST)
