The course provides a basic understanding of jail related topics intended to allow the person working in the jail the ability to; understand the unique environment of the jail in order to be efficient; protect themselves and fellow co-workers from harm; protect themselves and their agency from criminal or civil liability; maintain the welfare of the people placed in their care; and uphold the rights of the detainees.
